Bob Carey took a pink tutu and his camera all around the world—from snowy landscapes to small Italian towns—so that his wife would have something good to take in with her to chemo.

“It’s just like when a superhero puts on a cape,” Linda says in the video. “There’s a transformation there.”

Linda and her friends weren’t the only ones who benefited from the photos; Bob himself found a sort of therapy through the process.

“That’s what I do, when things start getting hard, is I start taking photographs.”

They published the series, called Ballerina, in a calendar whose proceeds benefit the Carey Foundation, which provides support to women diagnosed with breast cancer, survivors, and their family members.
